About Maria Markman

Maria Markman is one of Australia’s leading authorities in the fast emerging field of ‘personal branding’, which is attracting a growing following amongst founders, executives and other corporate leaders interested in reaching their full potential.

Highly ambitious herself from a young age, Maria gained acceptance into a prestigious college in her native Russia to study software development in the 2000s; an impressive achievement on many levels, and encouraged by her entrepreneur father.

In her early 20s she made an arguably even bolder decision to move to Australia, attracted by the country’s global reputation for innovation and opportunity.

Eventually settling in Melbourne (after mulling an offer from The University of Technology Sydney (UTS), she quickly acquired a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master of Business (Distinction), both in Information Technology from RMIT.

Within a short time, Maria had established herself as a respected and capable technology leader, working with a number of innovative businesses spanning digital marketing and cloud services, including a stint working as a Salesforce.com certified consultant.

This culminated in Maria being appointed Chair of the Victorian branch of the ACS (Australian Computer Society), while also serving on its national board and other high profile executive committees, roles which have seen her help shape policy and strategy for the peak technology body.

She has also held many other board level positions, further emphasising her ability to establish strong, meaningful networks spanning multiple industries across the Australian business community as well as state and federal governments. Along the way, she has become a mentor and role model to countless young aspiring executives.

In short, Maria is a connector, known and respected for her ability to bring people, ideas and solutions together.
